  • 1.  DHCP Server Change

I am a bit out of my depths here. I have an Aruba 3600 controller, running ArubaOS6.4.4.19 and I have about 62 of the 105 APs and a couple of the 93 antennas.

There was a Windows Server set up to handle DHCP, it crashed so a Cisco router is now handling that task. I am not sure what I need to do on the controller, or what to set up in the router for the controller. Should I be configuring DHCP option 43?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers,

When you are talking DHCP option 43 you are talking about getting the APs to their controllers.

DHCP option 43 is one way to do it, DNS is another -often easier- way.

For DNS, just create an A record for aruba-master in whatever DNS server is supplied to the APs.

Read a bit more about the different option at
    https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_64_Web_Help/Content/ArubaFrameStyles/AP_Config/AP_discovery_ADP.htm

If you want to use DHCP option 43 (again), check out  https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_64x_WebHelp/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/DHCP_Option_43/Windows_Based_DHCP_Serve.htm for further info.
