    Hi all,

Basically i have a existing 3com 4200G 24 port switch. Somehow i would like to bought a replacement for my SFP transceiver which is a 3com 3CSFP91. Which SFP transceivers do i need to choose between HP X120 or HP X121 SX Gbic transceivers?

    Appreciate any help asap.

    Thanks,

    Regards,

The difference between them is that the X120 series is compatible with the certain "3Com" units and the X121 series is compatible with certain "ProCurve" units. They are all HPN but still there are differances in compatability or accessories.

The 3CSFP91 HPN part number is the HP X124 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver (JD493A)

When checking for accessories for the 4200G on:

    http://h17007.www1.hp.com/us/en/products/switches/HP_4500G_Switch_Series/index.aspx

I can't find the HP X120 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver (JD118B) so you would need the HP X124 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver (JD493A)

Thanks for the reply. As we know 4200G already EOL, so im thinking to look at the replacement model for 4200G. I'm looking at HP 5210 24G EI , but the problem is different compatibility in the SFP transceivers.

Has anyone tried before using HP X124 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver (JD493A) in new HP 5210 24G EI switch instead of HP X120 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver (JD118B)?

    Thanks

    Tested 3CSFP91 in 1910, work!
But we have doubts about the 1920 and 1950 ...
    Please help.
