  • 1.  EIRP offset and Max Associations meaning

Hi all.  I have been working on dialing in my profiles for high density locations.  I'm having trouble understanding a couple of profile settings on the mobility conductor 8.6.0.21:

    1) What is EIRP offset?  Is that an extra amount that is added/subtracted from the calculated EIRP values based on the Min and Max EIRP values?

    2) How is max associations applied?  I keep seeing connections per radio and connections per SSID thrown around, but I'm not sure how to handle it.  I have 2 SSIDs on AP 515s.  So is that 4 times 64 (64 for each radio) , or 2 times 64 (64 for each SSID)?

What happens when the 65th client tries to associate?  Is there time slicing, do they have to wait,  are they pushed to another AP?

EIRP Offset is a manual adjustment applied to the AirMatch determined ideal EIRP for the radio.

If I'm reading the documents correctly, Max Associations is the maximum number of STA allowed to associate with the specific SSID on the AP at any one time.  Any STA attempting to associate when the maximum has been reached will be denied/ignored.  Some APs have a per-radio limitation that will be used as the limit if the value entered here exceeds the radio capacity.

Thanks Carson.  That clears it up for me.
