  • 1.  Enabling 802.1X Authentication on CX 8320 (10.05)

    Posted Oct 21, 2020 10:32 PM

I have a pair of CX 8320 Switches running 10.05.

What is the process to enable 802.1X authentication on the 8320s?

I read through the ArubaOS-CX 10.05 Security Guide and the ArubaOS-CX 10.04 Security Guide.

There doesn't appear to be a Port Access 802.1X Authentication section in the 10.05 guide.

Is 802.1X supported in 10.05 on the 8320s?

On the AOS-CX platforms you need to use 6000 series platforms for for dot1X port authentication. Generally 8000 series not supported on dot1XX with 10.05

    Hope that helps.

The 8320 series does not support 802.1x for port access security.

The 8320 (and the 8325 series) are designed and positioned as campus core/aggregation switches and in the data center to support  spine /leaf topologies for example. No for campus access.

802.1x is supported on on the 6300/6200 switch series- Campus access switch series.
