  • 1.  Enabling PoE on HP Aruba 2350-48G

    I have aquired an HP Aruba 2350-48G and trying to figure out how to enable PoE.  I have googled it and everything I have read on how to do it is not working.  Can anyone out there please give me some help on how to do this?  I have some PoE devices I would like to use.  I would appreciate any help that can be provided.

    Hello,

    Which model exactly are you referring to? Is it the Aruba 2530 48G Switch (J9775A), or some other model?

    You can look up the Part Number like J9775A here: https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/support/SupportLookUp.aspx

    There are numerous different 48G models, and the ones that support PoE/PoE+ generally indicate this in the name of the model, like Aruba 2530 48G PoE+ Switch (J9772A).

    Yes sorry forgot to mention that it is the J9775A model

    You can't manage PoE on your Aruba 2530-48G (J9775A) because it doesn't provide any PoE: the SKU you purchased is the one that reference exactly a (48 ports) non PoE model.

    Thank you very much for the information.  Now I know why I'm having such a hard time with it.  I thought when I got it that it was a PoE device becuase when I reserached the model number 2350-48G J9775A it was a PoE device.

    Well, sometime errors happen...maybe you're lucky enough and you're eligible for a product exchange by your vendor (J9775A non-PoE <-> J9772A PoE) just paying the price difference (PoE models are generally more expensive than non-PoE models, considering the very same number of ports in a like-for-like comparison).
