I'm having an issue where Clearpass 6.2.6.62196 is profiling two of the same model make/model computers (Windows 7) incorrectly. They are not running any VM's. One is profiled as windows, the other as Linux Chrome OS.

    Here's the Linux one:

    And Windows:

Any thoughts as to why they are different? I think it's the Host User Agent since the DHCP options are the same.

    Hi Josh,

I've had this happen a couple of times. The best way to get this resolved is to open a TAC case and they'll make the necessary adjustments the next time they have an Endpoint Fingerprint update.

    Hope this helps!

Also, once you update to 6.3, you'll be able to manually correct the
    endpoint.

Would it not be a useful feature if we could force a re-fingerprint of a device from the CPPM GUI? That would help in this case and where no fingerprint info has been captured yet

I contact TAC and this is indeed a bug. TAC is filing a bug ticket for this.
