With the Profiler and Network Scan - Endpoint Profiler, where is it pulling the information from?

There seems to be thousands of devices listed which wouldn't be reflective of the environment. Some devices appear on the data ClearPass Policy Manager  was installed, but I can't see any trace of them on the switches since. 

Edit: thanks all. I'm guessing it must be from the switches and firewalls but it's interesting to say the least.

From a lot of sources, SNMP, NMAP, RADIUS Accounting are all possible examples.
