Sites are only for reporting purposes and only in Central. Configuration is done on group level (or AP level). Moving an AP to another site should not affect the configuration of the AP.

Yes, that is how you should do it. Press the recycle bin for the AP; make sure you are in Sites (not in the devices list view), and you remove the device from the site, not from Central.

there is another error message when i try moving to unassigned group. "You can't apply this to devices. its a system maintained list of devices, not an assignable label.
same thing when i tried in incognito mode in Chrome.

Simply drag and drop the devices into the "unassigned" group. For optimal performance and to avoid issues with cookies or browser cache, it's recommended to use your web browser in incognito mode.
