I have to connect 2 buildings to the IT server room, 1 is 230m long and the other 180m.
Now there we need to send fiber from our server room to each one, we have switches procurve 2650 which have this Transceiver options.
ProCurve Gigabit-SX-LC Mini-GBIC (J4858B)
Maximum distance:
220 m (62.5 µm core diameter, 160 MHz/km bandwidth)
275 m (62.5 µm core diameter, 200 MHz/km bandwidth)
500 m (50 µm core diameter, 400 MHz/km bandwidth)
550 m (50 µm core diameter, 500 MHz/km bandwidth)
ProCurve Gigabit-LX-LC Mini-GBIC
Maximum distance: 10 km (single mode) or 550 m (multimode)
The other is not a standard but is for longer distance not my case.
The building A(230m) have around 60 users, building B(180m) around 20 users.
I want to take advantage of the 1Gb links but my doubt is about what fiber+transceiver to chose?
1)My understanding say I need this
ProCurve Gigabit-SX-LC Mini-GBIC (J4858B)
Because I don have very long distance, do I'm right?
2) Now, the last and most important I think is what type of fiber to chose to get
220 m (62.5 µm core diameter, 160 MHz/km bandwidth)
275 m (62.5 µm core diameter, 200 MHz/km bandwidth)
500 m (50 µm core diameter, 400 MHz/km bandwidth)
550 m (50 µm core diameter, 500 MHz/km bandwidth)
Here is my doubt, 1 think is Multi-Mode I'm sure(?), but what diameter of fiber?
62.5nm is well know for me, but any this 4 will give to me 1Gb speed knowing my distance?
Any technical comment to help me chose the best one for my network will be appreciate.
Thanks!!!
