Filter Interface UP/DOWN based on port desription

    Hi,

    I have about 4500 ports, but I only want to get an UP/DOWN alert for those that have "Uplink..." in the description. Or is there another way to get only alerts for ports connecting two switches? Filter "Alarms for disconnected links" doesn't seem to do anything for that problem.

    Hello,

    While it would be possible to create something like a Port Group with interfaces that have "Uplink" in the description and set UP/DOWN filtering for this group, it's additional work that should not be needed. iMC will alarm for inter-switch links (assuming you have discovered both switches in iMC) UP/DOWN events by default. The other filters are only for filtering out other types of interface UP/DOWN alarms, which I've described here:
