  • 1.  Firmware AP's

We have recently changed to Aruba for our WiFi system.  We are using the aruba central cloud and have 23 Aruba 505's currently installed.   They are running firmware 8.6.0.18_84257.   We received some Aruba 635's and when I try to install them they do not show up in aruba central.  I was told that it was due to a firmware mismatch.   When I try to upgrade the the 505's in Aruba central I get no devices found error and the do not update.  Any help would be appreciated.

Is this an AOSv8 or AOSv10 deployment. If AOSv8, all APs need to be running the same firmware version. If it is AOSv10, then they can come up in different 10.x.x versions.

Where are you trying to push the upgrade from on the 505s? Like below? Pick your group ahead of time:

I was in the group they are part of, I tried the update all.   Also when I go in firmware, it only shows the VC not all of the AP's.

Yes. The VC will be the target of the upgrade, and then it will seed the firmware to the other APs in its cluster.

Also when I was trying to do this update Sunday this upgrade arrow was not there.  I see it now, I wonder if it was an aruba central problem on Sunday.  We run 24x6 so Sunday is the only time I can do this since it will take down the entire system while it updates.

have you added the new APs to the inventory and assigned subscription lics ? if so then I suggest to put them on an isolated VLAN with Internet access and then they should be  visible in Aruba Central.

Yes, they are licensed and show up in the inventory.
