Q_0001: Why doesn't the switch prompt to set an admin password after changing to the VSX profile?
This behavior is intentional and as expected. Changing the system profile (e.g., from Basic or VSF to VSX) is treated as a boot profile change, not a full factory default reset. The existing admin credentials remain intact, so the system does not trigger the "set password" prompt you normally see after a factory default.
- If you require a password change after switching profiles, manually update the admin password using CLI or WebUI.
- For security compliance, always verify that strong password policies are applied after profile changes.
- To enforce the initial password prompt, perform a factory default reset rather than just a profile switch.
