Things seemed to have changed with central and the documentation is not clear on how I get started.

I follow the link and always end up in a Greenlake space, I try to create and workspace but this hasn't allowed me to build an Eval Central instance ready to build a customer solution.

    Any pointers on getting started?

Check the steps to get a 90 day free trial of Central here. This includes Greenlake, where recently 'customers' in have been renamed to 'workspace'. So consider that the same.

I've just these past few months have had to setup central for the location I work at. 400+ switches, 300+APs.. it's been crazy. I advise taking it slow and easy, with central you want to build it right the first time. Learn how it works, create a test environment!!! And watch plenty of youtube. If you need I have a list of articles/google sites that I bookmarked that really helped me out. I'm still learning central, and networking entirely, but I hope I could be of some help. No one was really helpful when I started. Other than TAC! Those guys/girls are super cool and smart.
