No matter which way I slide the wireless lever, the orange light stays on. This is very odd, as I was just on my HP Pavilion dv6000 an hour before with no problem, and hadn't downloaded anything new.

The two network adapters showing up are:

    1394 Net Adapter and
    NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller

    The system is XP.

There is no wireless icon in the tray with or without an x.

It shows that the 1394 Adapter is connected, but activity shows 0 for sent and received.

Any thoughts on how to remedy the problem??

Is there a chat available on this site to talk with techs?

    Thanks for any help!

Exactly same problem with my compaq V3155.
I even formatted my system but invain. The wireless adapter just does not show up in harware or network panel. I have tried installing drivers again and again.
do mention here if you find any solution to it!!

Hi. I've been having the same problem. At any random time my wireless card will stop working and then at any random time it will start again (blue light on/off regardless if the lever is slid to the right). I've noticed this occurs more when my computer needs to be rebooted/restarted. Has anyone figured out a solution yet? I had my computer sent in to hp last summer because my wireless card stopped working and they replaced it but now I'm here again. I've had this issue now for at least 6 months but haven't decided if I want to hassle with sending my computer over to them again.
    Thanks!
