  • 1.  Help with AP Connection to Aruba Central

    Posted Nov 04, 2022 10:42 AM
Im using AP 515s previously with AirWave, now on Aruba Central. The issue im having is the APs have disconnected from Aruba Central due to DNS error. They were working at one point but no longer connect. I can still log into the APs and check configs via the VC and the network is still up and running. My subscriptions are still valid, my other APs that are in Central are still connected. Is there a way to ping Aruba Central from the APs via IP address so i can determine if this is a firewall issue on my network vs a issue with the VC config?

Try running this command to get it talking to Central again:
    debug-cloud-server device-prod2.central.arubanetworks.com

Check the status with this command:
    show ap debug cloud-server

Looks like an issue resolving DNS (Aruba Central fail reason :dns error). Do you know if the DNS server provided with DHCP in the AP VLAN is working?

yes, the PCs that connect to the SSID coming from the APs are on the same VLAN and they are getting the DNS. I have all the APs set with static IP, Gatewaye, and Subnets. The DNS setting is 0.0.0.0 which should pull from DHCP. All my other APs at different sites are setup the same way and they are talking to Central fine..

I was hoping Aruba had an IP address for Central that I could ping and traceroute to figure out where my traffic is dropping.

issue was related to a firewall exemption we needed. we had to add 8.8.8.8 to our firewall rules coming from the VC IP address. For some reason Aruba Central needed that.
