  • 1.  How do I Reset the IPS SuperUser Password after 'mkey' invalid?

The model is IPS 200E. I forget the Superuser password.

When I type the word 'mkey' within 3 seconds before the three dots "..." appear ,the screen still display "........" ,and then "Login: ".    No prompt to select a security level. I have no method of reseting password.
Please tell me how to reset the Superuser password?

    Please help me.
    Thanks a lot!

When the IPS is booting you have to wait until you see the words TippingPoint appear.  It will be in large ASCII characters.  At that time quickly type in "mkey" without the quotes.  You don't have to hit enter just type in those three letters.  Then it will prompt you for the username and the new password you want associated with it.

    Thank you for your answer.

I do as you said, but failed.

The prompt for username isn't available after type in "mkey"  ,instead of 8 dots  "........".

Are there any method  for  modifying  the superaccount.

No, there is no other way besides that.  Typing in the word "mkey" without the quotes is the only way to reset the password.  Keep in mind that it isn't necessary to press enter after entering that word.  If any dots appear then it was too late, it must be entered before anything else appears.
