I upgraded the OS for 2540 to 16.07 and enabled stacking but where should I connect the cable as there is no stacking module in it? How to stack 2 2540 switches?

The stacking commands were inadvertently added to the 2540 software at some point and are in the process of being removed in an upcoming update. The 2540 series does not support stacking.
