  • 1.  hp 10508 upgrade comware 7 with ipe file

    Hi

    I am trying to upgrade hp 10508 to comware 7 version (10500-cmw710-r2105p05.ipe).

    Curently installed version is 10500-cmw520-r1210p01.bin. 

    so when i copy th new .ipe into flash and try to set boot-loader.. it give me following error.  

    "The specidied file is invalid." 

    any idea ? is there any problem upgrading with .ipe file. ?

    IMHO the operation you're trying is not - strictly speaking - an Upgrade: it is a Migration (from Comware 5 to Comware 7). There are restrictions and guidelines to do so.

    I'll use bin files not ipe or, at least, check - by verifying your download checksum - if the whole downloaded file of Software Release 10500_7.10.R7180 is not corrupted. Never say never.

    Maybe you need start by looking for a Migration Guide from Comware 5 to 7 for your HPE FlexNetwork platform (I recall I saw something related to HP FlexNetwork 12500 about Migration from Comware 5 to 7 out there, it will be useful).

    Have you checked here yet? There is a "fat" 475 MB file to download.
