    Hi

I have 850 controller and using AP 525 with it.

I have to configure the other port on Ap 525 so i can connect a PC with it.

Just want to know what are configuration steps to be done to make that port working.

    Hi

You can simply create a text file with the port configuraiton for the 2nd port of the HP525.  Upload the configuraiton text file into the controller either via FTP or just upload using the controller web gui under file management.

Once the mapconfiguration text file is uploaded to the controller, simply map the file name to the AP template whichever you want to modify.

    Sample config file content:

525_map_config.txt <save the below into a notepad and upload to controller>

    vlan 10
    name PC-network

    interface gig 1/0/2
    port access vlan 10

Then login to the controller to map the above file name to one of the AP template, so that the port 2 can be used as an access port of vlan 10:

    wlan ap <AP-NAME>

     map-configuration 525_map_config.txt

After you mapped the configuration.  Save the controller configuraiton and Reboot the AP for the configuration to take effect.

Thanks alot Ram, but currently the controller is running on the old firmware  P22 and due to that AP 525 isnt coming up i saw at one place that minimum it needs P32 can you confirm this and also i cant download that firmware or any of them.

2nd this is about local forwarding which i was testing it with AP 560.

i tagged the VLAN on the port where the AP is connected  and from the wireless services i selected Local Forwarding and selected the same VLAN but some how it isnt working that way. the same works with Remote forwarding. both the controller and AP are on the same switch.

Any specific thing which needs to be done ?

yes, you would need P32 or above to run HP525 APs.  You should be able to download the firmware from HPE Networking support page using your passport account.

    https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/support/SupportLookUp.aspx

If you are looking for HP830 Controller software - just search for 830 and then select the controller from the result page.  From there navigate to Software download page.

    https://h10145.www1.hpe.com/downloads/SoftwareReleases.aspx?ProductNumber=JG646A

If the forwarding mode is set to LOCAL, then make sure you confgure the VLANs using the map-configuration file that i mentioned above and configure the Interface gig 1/0/1 as Trunk port permitting all the vlan or just the vlan you want to.  Similar config tex for map-config (local forwarding):

    vlan 30
    vlan 40
    vlan 50

    interface gig 1/0/1
     port link-type trunk
     port trunk permit vlan all

    Thanks Ram,

so i can create 1 template and put the configuration for both gi1/0/1 and gi1/0/2 together and map it to the Ap group.

and for the wireless services i just need to map the vlan under local forwarding( this should be for the SSID traffic)?

Anything needs to be done for gi1/0/2 otherthan uploading and mapping the template?

Thanks once again for your support.

Yes, one file with two port configuraiton and other vlan creation commands is sufficient to achieve what you  are looking for.  Yes, for the local forwarding you can either map it on the service template or individualy on the AP radio itself while applying the service template.
