    Hi All,

I have a HP 7102dl router with two interfaces. One of this interfaces which is eth0/1 is connected in a switch with VLAN50. I configured the interface of the switch where HP router is connected as tagged to VLAN50. I've also configured the HP Router eth0/1 with encapsulation 802.1q and created a virtual interface which is eth0/1.1 with IP address 192.168.100.20/24 with VLAN ID 50. I can already ping the IP address(VLAN50) of my switch. Now my problem is, I want to connect 1 server in the HP router interface eth0/2, the server must have the same IP block of VLAN50 which is 192.168.100.x/24. Can anyone help me on how to configure this? thanks.

router device sperate broadcast domain and network

    must have
router interface 0/1 or 0/1.1 in a network
    192.168.100.0/24

other router interface must have different network for example 192.168.101.0/24

imposible comminication same subnet on two router interface

already router device disallow like this configuration

Question is: If the server is on the same subnet, why don't you connect the server to the switch instead of the router? If you need to, you can "bridge" between the 2 interfaces on the router....
What are you trying to do?

@cenk sasmaztin, thanks for reply. So this is not possible for my server connected to the eth0/2 to have the IP Address 192.168.100.x/24 (VLAN50). hmmm. Any advise? what should I do? Thanks

@Olaf Borowski, thanks for reply. I really need to connect the server in one of the interfaces of the router. If I use bridge? what should I do? The server must have the IP address 192.168.100.x/24 "VLAN50" that can communicate with the 192.168.100.x/24"VLAN50" IP address of my switch. Thanks for your help.

I have change the configuration in my switch interface where HP router(eth0/1) is connected, configured to "VLAN50 untagged". I have removed the encapsulation to eth0/1 of hp router and configured an IP Address 192.168.100.20/24 (VLAN50 IP Block). I also configured bridge group for both interfaces of my HP router (eth0/1 and eth0/2). Then I connect my server in HP router eth0/2). Configured static ip address in my server which is 192.168.100.100/24. I can already ping the 192.168.100.x IP address of my switch. Same with my switch I can already ping the server. Here's my another problem. I need to configure the built-in firewall of HP router to limit all traffic coming to my server. Is this possible? thanks for help
