HP j2858c and J8177C transceivers not working on E6200yl switches

    Hi,

    We have recently deployed 4 E6200yl switches in 2 projects. We have about 70 FiberSFPs (j4858C) and 5 Copper SFPs (J8177C). Only 6 fiber and 2 copper are working ok. Rest all do not power on when plugged in. We contacted our vendor and he replaced all the transceivers but no use. What could be the issue? Any help would be appreciated as we are on a tight schedule and this is delaying us severely.

    Have you ensured the interfaces are not Administratively Down?

    Interesting that the vendor replaced them all, normally all vendors refer you to HP support. Are you sure that all of the Gbics are genuine HP parts?

    Are they reccognized by the switch?

    What, if any, messages are in the logs?

    Do the Gbics work in other HP switches and if yes, what model and what SW revision?
