I try to implement 802.1x technology on my network (3500 HP Procurve mostly). Everything works, exept multiple authentication per port function.
When i insert test PC to managed switch directly it works fine and authentication got succesful. But if i insert unmanaged switch (HP 408) between them, authentication failed.
Sniffer shows that unmanaged switch drop frames with destiantion 01-80-C2-00-00-03 (used in EAPOL authenication).
Is it usual behaviour for all unmanaged HP Procurve switches or i just got unlucky ?
