Hi,

 

 

I have an HP5412zl connected on  HP5406zl switches.

They are connected using OSPF and VRRP.

 

 

As I checked the logs, I found out this error message:

 

e 05/09/13 06:42:29 03132 OSPF: RECV: Discarding invalid packet : Packet with

            same router id as ours

W 05/09/13 06:40:10 00784 vrrp: Vrid 2, Vid 2 recd pkt from a duplicate

            master(20800)

 

 

Why these things appearing?

Hi networkSwagger,

Those messages seem pretty clear to me - your switch thinks that there is a duplicate VRRP router id on your network. I would set up a mirror port, direct a port on the VRRP VLAN to it, and turn on Wireshark to sniff the VRRP traffic. That should at least offer a couple of suggestions about which router MAC address is causing the issue.

And it also thinks there's an OSPF router with the same router id. Do you perhaps have this switch's config duplicated on a test switch that is connected to the same network inadvertently?
