Hi All,

Started at this new company about a week ago and still trying to get around the place here. We had a powersurge and one UPS fail. I replaced the UPS and noticed the switch had lost its date, or maybe it was never set, Regardless one users printer began to hang up on jobs. Since yesterday I have been monitoring the SYSLOGS and this has now spread to other ports. 

I would very much appreciate some guidance on this issue.

It just seems like the ports Gi1/0/14 and Gi1/0/37 are coming up - albeit both doing a extra Link up/down event.

Event Gi1/0/14 (timechange in ms)

Linkdown ->  2584 Linkup -> 6 STP forwarding -> 30503 Linkdown -> 3163 Linkup -> 6 STP forwarding -> 15 LLDP create

Gi1/0/37

Linkup -> 6 STP forwarding -> 227129 Linkdown -> 3365 Linkup -> 7 STP forwarding -> 309 LLDP create

On the timing i can see stp edged-port, lldp-enable (Dell inc. mac-address)

But I don't see anything alarming. Is the switch delivering PoE?

Is there something in the logs we do not see (such as Gi1/0/14 and /37 is doing the above repeatedly)

HI see the latest on the attachment. 

Per HP my firmware has not been updated since 2016 and may resolve this issue. Attempting to update firmware now.

Hi! often sporadic (not too frequents nor too constants) port flapping is not an issue per-sè, it happens due to edge devices connected (NIC port settings misconfigured? Power Savings on NIC? Bad cabling? and so on...).

Please update to latest Comware 5.20 R1121 (04/2019) ASAP and report back.

It would help us a lot if you could tell us:

1: What is the exact model number (there are at least 9 different HPE 1920 models)

2: What firmware is your HPE 1920 switch running?

3: How does an interface configuration look like?  (Device > Port Management > Detail, and then choose an affected  port)

Firmware CMW520-R1114 resolved 2 issues around MDI and MDIX.

I see other (old) threads in here describing what seems to be the same problem, or a problem with similar symptoms. example: "Another thread"-like

I applied the firmware update to 1121 about 4 days ago. The ports became untagged and the issue with the ports going up and down continues. What am I missing here?

 All happening within 200ms i think, the device is trying to negotiate maybe PoE og Voice VLAN using LLDP-MED - and something is not working.

In all your examples I've seen Dell MAC-addresses from the same series. So I'm guessing its an IP-Phone.
You said you had a power outage, and your switch had been rebooted. Maybe it somehow lost the configuration. Do you have a backup, (or maybe a similar switch) where you can compare the configurations.

I'd still like to see an interface configuratgion.

Cant add an attachment for some reasom, under DHCP Snooping I have all ports 1-52 in an UNTRUST state. I do have a backup up but under the release 1115.

Please find out what the clients are. (Example: MAC-address e454-e8a9-749b.)

And try to get the interface config. We can't help you with no info.
