HPE 2530 (J9775A) with firmware YA.15.12.0007 : direct update or not ?

    Hello,

    I have several HPE switches 2530 (J9775A and J9776A). 2 of them have old firmware (J9775A) : YA.15.12.0007 with ROM YA.15.12.

    I did not find any clear answer to the following question. 

    For security reasons I want to update them. Can I make direct update to the last firmware (YA.16.11.0029) or must I make intermediate updates ?

    Hi Anthony,

    Normally you can directly update to the latest release.

    I thing is that some default config can be changed during upgrade. Make sure to backup you config before the update.

    For sure BootROM changed to 15.20 so expect a dual (automatic) reboot when you start the AOS-S firmware update process (flashing the swi file): the first reboot to upgrade the BootROM version, the second reboot to upgrade the YA Application Software.
