  • 1.  HPE 2930M Smartrate switches

    Hello all,

    On the data sheet for the R0M68A Aruba 2930M 24 HPE Smart Rate switch it says that it supports 100M speed on front ports but in testing we have found that it doesn’t support 100M only 1, 2.5 and 5GB.

    Is this a software or marketing error?

    Greetings!

     

    What software version is your 2930M running? 100M support for HPE Smart Rate ports requires version 16.06 or newer, so if you're not seeing it, try upgrading to the latest software and check again.

    Hello Matt, thanks for the confirmation I will ask to get the switches upgraded and we will check again. 

    I guess there will never be any support for 10Base-T. We have a customer that has some legacy equipment that doesn't support anything faster.

    10BASE-T is not supported on HPE Smart Rate ports in any current platform due to lack of hardware support. You would need to connect this equipment to a switch with 10/100/1000M ports.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for the confirmation.

    I looked at some Ethernet chipset datasheet for Nbase-T and realized that nothing supports 10Base-T.
