or documentation. even in the 8.12.0.3 Release notes, it dosent mentioned the upgrade path.

I believe you can check with TAC to figure out what stable release in 8.10 you should go to. In general I usually go to the latest release in the LSR code. Currently it looks like 8.10.0.17. You should be able to upgrade 8.6 straight to 8.10.0.17. Also it is a good idea to use AP preload to make sure code is pushed to the APs. Also there are some APs that won't be supported in 8.10 code. (105,135). This is common when making major upgrades, if you do intend to go to 8.12 even more AP will go out of support with that code.

No you can not, you will have to do a step upgrade. You can upgrade from 8.6 -> 8.10 (LSR) then if you required 8.12 code you can upgrade 8.10 -> 8.12
