    Hi everyone,

has anyone else experienced problems with the interaction between the IMC and the REST API on CX switches with every firmware version from 10.16.xxxx onwards? I get the error message "Platform operation failed" every time I try to change a VLAN on a port, for example. Switches with firmware version 10.15.xxxx and earlier work without any issues. I'm using /rest/latest/login and /rest/latest/logout as the login and logout parameters. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

yes, we have an ongoing issue with iMC and Aruba CX switches after upgrade to version 10.16.X. VLAN Management is also affected, but we don't have a resolution right now.

Please try to downgrade the switches to older version (like 10.15.X) and see if it will help.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Ivaylo Velikov

Hi, we had the same issue. [HPE IMC 7.3H10 / AOS-CX 10.16]

    activate the rest swagger

    # https-server rest swagger

and use this login/logout parameters in the imc

    /api/#/Login

    /api/#/Logout

    Hi,

I also have an installation with SW-OS 10.16 / IMC-Patchlevel H10. Downgrading the switches is not an option. Is a patch for the IMC planned? Currently, the VLAN menu/option doesn't work & neither does NTA.

With software version 10.15.1010, at least the NTA module works.

Here we need an update to the SW software and from the IMC.

    Thanks

    Thomas

    Hello,

the development team prepared a patch for the issue, it's not working in 100% of the cases, but there is progress. I urge you to open cases with the TAC to get it fixed. This affects only VLAN Management issues in Aruba CX devices after upgrade to iMC version 7.3 (E0710H10).

    Thank you,

    Hello all,

just to add - the patch which Ivo is metioning is related to the IMC E0710H10 vlan management issue with Aruba OS CX 10.11, 10.12. 10.13. 10.14 and 10.15 versions.
For the vlan management issue with OS CX 10.16 version we still don't have solution

I have the E0710H10 patch applied. VLAN management is possible, but only for access interfaces. It still doesn't work for trunk/tagged ports.

    Hello Lukasz,

as discussed I will continue testing and further troubleshooting in my local lab to find out what is happening in the background

    Hello Lukasz,

wonder what this is all about, came across this .

When adding new devices it seems there's an issue applying the stored template account or add it manually by typing.

IMC partially even can't read that Account data properly or even gives an error in an attempt to apply it from template

Using an old devices using the credentials may help to propagate fields somehow from a cache

So the user account for rest api can be added somehow but it appears the password may be an issue and the switch running 10.13. drops an error in syslog

    existing switches are not affected

    @vasilyotov

I just received the first batch of R8N88B (CX 6000 24P) switches, the successor to the R8N88A series. Unfortunately, only two firmware versions are available for this switch (10.16.1020 and 10.16.1010). What should I do if CX switch management in IMC works best with version 10.15.1060 and lower?

I just ordered several dozen S4R22A (CX 6000 24P) switches, for which firmware 10.15.x is also unavailable...

I have purchased a lot of Aruba 6000 8G 2SFP S4R22A switches and I cannot manage them in IMC. The device model is displayed as unknown, vlans are not recognized, I cannot perform backups or save configurations. The snmpv3, ssh and RESTful API credentials are valid. The switch was shipped with software version PL.10.16.1040. I cannot downgrade to 10.15.1050 and 10.15.1060 (even via https). Version iMC PLAT 7.3 (E0710H10).

Suggest to try Netedit, CX Switch configs became harder to read in IMC. IMC Integration always took a while, Sometimes required VRF in Backup Function, actually there's a bug in adding credentials for Rest API which is required for most of the mention stuff

you are also required to Upload MIB Files of the Software Version

Wonder if the TFTP Bug is also back

    Hi,

I don't know with the E0710H10 but we have problems with 10.16.X and E0710P06,

After some investigation, client lib OpenSSL of IMC is 1.0.2u and server lib from Aruba 10.16 is OpenSSL 3.X with tls v1.0 and v1.1 disabled.

For a (pretty bad) workaround, I installed a server between IMC and my switches, then routed all packets destined to my switches through this server, intercept 443 to a squid that accept tls V1 (so the squid do a Mitm between IMC and the switch) and finally, for all other traffics, the server act as a NAT router.

So, bad solution but hey, imc connect to the switch ^^

/!\ I don't know why but I can configure trunk and access ports, but I can't go from access to trunk (trunk to access is OK) /!\

    Hello to anyone here,

is there any new Information or Updates about this issue?

We are struggeling also with our IMC E710H10 and the REST API access of our CX switches.

I added only one Switch usig 10.16.xx and from there on we can't access to any CX switch via REST API. Regardless which version is installed. Also a "downgrade" to version 10.13.xx on this switch doesn't help..

    Hello Merkur,

please open a case with the TAC, we have few patches now that solve most of the problems.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Ivo

    Hi

Yes, the IMC has a major problem with CX switches in version 10.16. For example, the entire VLAN menu, including all sub-items, no longer works.

According to my information, this won't be fixed. TAC/the support call is open.
The statement that there is currently no solution for this comes from the support call.
    Bad News
    @Ivaylo Velikov:
Version 10.15 isn't an option for some customers. Ours have the CX10000 with AMD Pensando Firewall. That would be a significant step backward, as the Pensando version has to match the switch's firmware.
The customers purchased the IMC new, with a Care Pack, and there's no solution from HPE.

What should the partner tell the end customer now?
    Best Regards
    Thomas

@ley_1 I'm sorry to hear that I just received the new version of the 6000 CX switches (P/N xxxxxB, instead of xxxxxA) and for the new hardware versions, only version 10.16 is available.... I'm also deeply concerned about this.

@IvoVelikov  Hotfix 11 has only been released for Linux, is that a mistake?

@Andreas Pircher, no this is not a mistake, there is no H11 version for Windows as soon as I know.
