The AP-345 is a "unified AP" and supports both controller-based and Instant deployments.

So Instant has been supported since day 1.

All newer AP models are introduced as unified ones.

So far: AP-203H, AP-203R(P), AP-303H, AP-303, AP-34x, AP-318, AP-36x, AP-37x.

Yes, the AP-345 ships with version 8.3 pre-installed. As a universal AP, it will run in Instant or Controller mode, based on what the AP detects at startup.
