agreed you dont need VLAN trunk if you have configured the client IP address for the SSID to be Virtual Controller managed.
see if upgrading it to 8.10.0.7 will make a diff

Totally agree is strange case, trunk should not be needed because it is a virtual controller assigned internal network so, only the AP should be going out to the internet because the NAT

this is strange. so the switch port is configured for VLAN trunking and the native VLAN is the one you are using with a static IP address?

The AP is connected to a switch and the switch to the FW, I tried with an IAP300 series and with the 303 works but no with the 635.
This is the only AP in the network.

Also note that 8.10.0.7 is the latest maintenance release for 8.10 firmware

New IAP 635 (R7J27A) works ok when IP adress is assigned form DHCP server but stop working when IP is changed to static (with the same Subnet mask, Default gateway and DNS parameters) when we look in the firewall we noticed the internet request are using the internal AP IP addresses 172.x.y.z current AOS version 8.10.0.0_83812 LSR
