Controllerless Networks

Hello everybody this is my first post in the forum. I want to know if anyone has experienced this issue before.

In our customer site (a shopping center )  we deploy an Instant AP cluster conformed by eigtheent IAP 207 and one IAP 365.

we are having problems with the 2.4 GHz band ( sometimes imposible to connect ,disconections, low speed). It happens where threre are APs with high noise floor, in APs where noise floor is low we don't have that problem. Then we tried to connect to other APs from other vendors in shops in the same  area (high noise floor )and we don't have those problems.

I followed the VRD for Instant AP Cluster in high interference enviroment, I attach an image with the parameters we didn't configure as the guide says marked in yellow, the other parameters are cnofigured as it says.

We also test an individual Instant AP (207) as standalone and the user performance was good, it seems to be the cluster configuration that is generating some kind of misconfiguration of the RF parameters.

2.4GHz is a difficult band to get good performance in environments like these. First, I would try to find the source of interference, and eliminate that when possible. That works much better than tweaking any parameter.  

Then, I would work with a WiFi specialist to analyze what is causing the disconnects. It could for example be that ARM is tuning down the transmit power because there are too many APs in range of eachother. Or for example, the Client Probe Threshold should only be set high if you have enough AP density as it artificially makes the AP deaf for clients also to improve roaming. Clients forced to roam can experience that as disconnect if there is no proper alternative AP, and you won't have that with a single AP either. If you have issues like this, you probably need to change the values from the recommendations depending on the cause of your issues.

Aruba TAC might be able to assist here as well, though in my experience doing a survey onsite might be the best solution.
