by any chance do you have "Deny inter user bridging" enabled?

Ariyap, also the other weird behavior it had:
If you had AP1 and AP2 in one switch with this only config on the both ports
AP vlan on access
Users vlans tagged
Thats it really simple
We were unable to ping one device in the SSID assigned to the user vlan
We were just able to do that if they were both connected on the same AP, but if the Device was connected to the same swith but in different ports but with the config im telling you wich you can see was really really basic it didnt work
After resetting that behavior also stop happening
It was really odd, never seen that happening after installing many of this instant cluster during all this years
We were checking config and everything looked fine and well i dont know my coworker just decied to factory reset that and well that worked -_-
it just that it has no rational explanation but well the good news is that is working

Just as an update Herman and Ariyap
My coworker decided just to erase the configuration of 2 APs, this worked. After that he was able to see the APs like before.
The odd part is that the config was not changed anywhere in the AP when the issue happened becuase when they were working the changes they were doing were on the switches, but basic configurations, and as i said they did a rollback with the backups they had. I dont know what happened but, well that worked
Anyways thanks for your support like always

Or, try a few APs on a different switch to see if it is the switch.
Private VLAN or port isolation would block the inter-AP communications. You may also run a port-mirror on one of the AP ports and see if the cluster traffic is seen.

I think the issue would be on the LAN side blocking the APs to formlayer 2 adjacencies among one another.
I suggest to powered down all the APs except for two of them and then check the switch configuration for those active ports.

Sadly the support only coverts for hardware funtionality, and replacement. It does not cover troubleshooting.
We tried like 3 different firmwares
The original one 8.11.1.1_87111
We then downgrade to some 8.10 firmware and another one
The method was turning off all the APs, then one AP goes up we downgrade that AP, then turned that AP off then turned another AP on, downgrade the other one to the same firmware. Then tried to see if they can form a cluster just those 2 having all the other APs off. It didnt work either
If you have any suggestion please let me know or if anyone does
Thanks

its really weird, what firmware are you running and what AP models are these?
for a speedy resilutin it is best to reach out to TAC.

Hello we have the fallowing issue:
a cluster of 20 APs refuse to forma cluster
They are in the same vlan, same switch, same firmware, they are not in stand alone, they have the auto join mode on i don t know what else we should look at? never seen thiis before. Its the same model too
A cooworker was asking me about xthis issues he is having. Before this the cluster was formed, but he had extrance issues. in the WIFI he was able to ping a device which was on the same SSID just if it was on the same AP, but if it was on another AP on the same switch it was not able
The rules were unrestricted so its not something about the firewall.
Anyways they were doing a network maintainance and changing things on it, and suddenly the APs were not able to form a cluster.
They did a roll back with back up and still the same. The bad part is that he didnt have a console that day to check by console what was happening
Anyways What else we can check. Of why the cluster is not working. Doing a factory reset it would be really hard becuase the APs are not easily reachable
It doesnt matter who is the master it just wont form the cluster. If we try to go directly to another AP in the GUI it will redirect to the master, but i still see all the other AP down in the console and the radios down, the only AP that comes up is the master, or any AP that is selected as master.
We also saw last time we tried that some APs tried to come up but then they went down immediatly on the console. It just soo odd
Any help with this?
