Hi! on IMC platform 7.3 E0705P04 I decided to update the NTA/UBA from running E0507 to newer E0509 (E0509 is supported on IMC E0705 and its patches).

As usual - via DMA - I started by stopping IMC services and, once all processes were stopped, I executed the install (upgrade) wizard browsing the folder where I placed the content of the iMC_NTA_7.3_E0509.zip file (I opted for /opt/upgrade/IMC_NTA_7.3_E0509/ path since I have enough room on /opt mountpoint).

During the upgrade procedure I saw an error message about not possible connectivity to various DBs...but I decided to proceed anyway (I felt it was quite strange):

Now the NTA is correctly at E0509 (IMC about shows that) even if I'm under the impression that it's not totally OK (see needUpdate below on the About IMC) and if I try to re-install (update) the NTA the IMC correctly says it is all already update at E0509 BUT the IMC has the unbaserver process which don't load and it stays in error (all other processess are correctly loaded and running).

I have the deploylog log file generated during the process so if someone would chime in and help me to understand what is going on and how to fix that it would be great.

I would also proceed with the update to IMC platform 7.3 E0705P06...but I want to fix this before any other update.

Edit: since I'm not using any NTA feature I decided to undeploy and remove the four involved components (IMC then starts flawlessly without these four ones).

Then I tried to install ex-novo the NTA E0509 but I end always with this:

As usual logs were saved for future references...I'll try to update the IMC platform to E0706 and see if then NTA will install without issues.

What DB are you running - is it MySQL? Which version exactly?

I'm not aware of any issues with upgrade from NTA E0507->E0509, so while it could be a new bug, it's more likely something caused by the underlying DB connectivity error you saw during the initial upgrade. Have you tested manual connectivity to the database?

Aside from the 'deploy logs', it would be helpful to check the install/upgrade logs found under /etc/iMC-Reserved/log/ folder on Linux. You should be able to find a specific error indicating what is causing the issue in there - check the latest logs from when you attempted to deploy NTA.

I don't think that's the error we are looking for, BATCHOPER warning isn't an issue. Was that from an "install" or "upgrade" log? Please also check for "dbresult<timestamp>.txt" files in the same folder, and see if there are any errors in the latest one. These should show you the DB's error message if there was any.

Hi @jguse, thank you for your time. The logs came from the latest install_timestamp.txt file.

Since now IMC is running flawlessly with NTA component removed I'm trying to reproduce the deployment of NTA E0509 again collecting all new generated logs.

1. removed the folder /opt/upgrade/IMC_NTA_E0509 used for initial NTA E0507 -> E0509 update attempt.
2. created a new folder /opt/upgrade/nta-e0509.
3. unzipped again the iMC_NTA_7.3_E0509.zip into /opt/upgrade/nta-e0509
4. Linux components of NTA E0509 can now be found on the /opt/upgrade/nta-e0509/NTA/linux/install/components path and are, respectively:
   1. iMC-NBAM
   2. iMC-NBAMServer
   3. iMC-NTAM
   4. iMC-NTAMServer
5. started DMA on /opt/iMC/deploy (./dma.sh)
6. stopped IMC (all processes in the localhost were stopped)
7. select "Install" and filled the components location (see above step 4)
8. the Installation Wizard starts
9. I accept the Agreement
10. after checking the components the wizard asks me to continue. The install location root path will be /opt/iMC and components to be installed are four:
    1. Network Behaviour Analyzer Server (IMC NTA/UBA 7.3 (E0509)) -> about to install
    2. Network Traffic Analyzer Server (IMC NTA 7.3 (E0509)) -> about to install
    3. Network Behaviour Analyzer (IMC NTA/UBA 7.3 (E0509)) -> about to install
    4. Network Traffic Analyzer (IMC NTA 7.3 (E0509)) -> about to install
11. free disk space (12726028 kBytes) >> required disk space (183012 kBytes)
12. I select the "Deploy or upgrade at once"
13. Batch Deploy -> select all four components
14. Error ("Deployment failed"). Details on /opt/iMC/tmp/deploylog_1597161292952.zip file.
15. Collected all iMC-Reserved logs generated (two files) plus the deploylog above (and dmalog too).
16. Batch deploy is interrupted.
17. Components were left undeployed.
18. the IMC was started.
