  • 1.  IMC Port Groups and alarms

    Hi All]

I  created a port group that consists of all the interfaces that are configured to connect our access points.

I have added some extra columns with "Customize columns" button within port group view.

This somehow set off alarms as per below

I decided to remove the group but we are still receiving a large number of those alarms. I'm not sure how to get rid of this now. I don't want to filter. Killing it at the source would be ideal. Switches are comware 7, mainly 5130's and 5510's.

    Hi,

As per the alarm it looks like to be a performance view threshold alarm. Please go to performance view and check for any setting which may reflect regarding ports configured.

     Hi Nitish

How do I access performance view? I've never adjusted any thresholds to be honest. Does the process of creating port groups somehow add thresholds automatically but when the port groups is removed thresholds remain set?

    Hi,

Please check under Resource > Performance view . There you will be able to see different view but look for view which have details regarding interface level monitoring as the alarm posted shows alarm for interface discards. When you add port group it monitor interface level details as well which uses interface index for data collection.
