  • 1.  Import Devices Match Fields Customization

    I was wondering if during the Import Devices, is there a way to force or remove fields from the Match Fields section after you import the device list? 

    When someone creates a single device, the default and only option they have is 1day.   When they use the Import Devices, they can specify and expiration date/time, account lifetime, etc...  Is there a way to edit this Match Fields post import to default settings that I want and control?

    I don't think that's an option. Import is mostly used by administrators with a certain level of trust; and for large amounts of devices. For the non-privileged users, the import is mostly disabled/removed.

    You may consider using the API if you want to do this at scale and build your own application that enforces your custom restriction.

    Maybe TAC knows a way around this, but while the granularity in ClearPass Guest is really high, this may be too high.

    Thanks, thats what I kind of thought.  I'm working with our servicenow team to build requests within that and it would kick off the api, but i've got to wait in line.  So was just looking for a work around until then.
