    Hello,

I have just installed AW on a server we were using previously for COP. This (eventually) went fine, it installed and came up on the network. Then I needed to upgrade it, so I copied the upgrade package (8.2.15.0) to it and ran the upgrade. This seems to have worked... but... it seems to have lost all its network config. Or rather it seems to have the network config on an interface that it now doesn't know about.

From the CLI menu if I choose "Configure network settings" it seems to briefly run a network settings script, it doesn't give me the option to configure anything. So that is no help.

If I go to the Advanced menu and choose Run Commands and type 'network' it says:
        Uh oh,
We have an interface file in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
for 'eth6' but it has no corresponding hardware.

In the upgrade release notes it mentions running 'intfinorder' so I tried that but it just tells me that it is "not necessary to run this script..."

So I'm stuck - unable to change the network config. Is there a way for me to get at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and make changes to that? Or some other way?

I guess I could reinstall but that's a real pain given how much work it has taken just to get this far! The server is also in our DC so everytime we want the DVD put in we have to ask one of the guys there to go put it in (and remove it after!)

I guess I could reinstall but go straight to 8.2.15.0 instead of 8.2.14.1 then upgrading - the reason we did this in the first place was because 8.2.15.0 doesn't fit on a standard DVD (but would fit on a Dual Layer DVD so I guess I could create a boot DVD on a dual layer DVD and hope that the DVD drive on the box can read it)? However what guarantee do we have that this issue won't crop up every time we upgrade AW?

    Can anyone help?!

I would suggest opening a TAC case before going for the fresh install part. They should be able to access the shell using the rescue mode and can verify the network details.

    Thanks Vishnu,

I did just that, and they said exactly that! So hopefully they will be able to fix it when I have a call with them (Monday)
