Interconnect Compatibility in Networking Support Portal (NSP)

There is no question that the AOS-Switch and AOS-CX Transceiver Guide is the most important reference document you can have available when using transceivers for connections. It has a complete breakdown of supported transceivers - including optics, DACs and AOCs - and is updated regularly. It also has a lot of reference material about fibre, optical standards, connectors, etc.
Make sure you download the latest copy from Networking Support Portal (NSP) https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/globalsearch#q=transceiver%20guide&tab=Documents&sortCriteria=date%20descending

However, with all the new connection standards, options, types, speeds, connectors, etc, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start. There is an online tool to help with that!

    Interconnect Compatibility Tool

The Interconnect Compatibility Tool is available from the front page of the HPE Networking Support Portal https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/home under Resources.

The Interconnect Compatibility Tool is very handy to help answer questions such as:

    • What 100Gb XVR options are available?
    • What 100Gb to 25Gb breakout cables are available?
    • Can I connect this to that?
    • What switches support 40Gb?
    • EOL details for a XVR?

The data for both the Transceiver Guide and the Interconnect Compatibility page come from the same source, but depending on what you are trying to do, one format may be easier to navigate than the other.

    Examples

What 100Gb transceiver options are available?

Choose Data Rate = 100G and Interconnects (shown here). Choose Product Compatibility to see switch models that support 100Gb.

What 100Gb to 25Gb breakout cables are available?

    Choose Data Rate = 100G / 25G to show breakout/splitter/hydra cables, and optics that can be split into 4 x 25G lanes/channels.

Can I connect this to that?

You can also type in the SKU for a specific XVR, including using a * as a wildcard for partial SKUs.

    EOL details for a XVR?

Choose the filters to narrow your search; in this case 10G, optic, 10km. This shows 6 optics:

    • 3 x standard 10G LR (original + 2 product rolls)
    • 1 x TAA variant
    • 1 x Industrial high-temp LR
    • 1 x c-class

Scroll to the right to see the Life Cycle Status - the first two are shown as EOL:
