  • 1.  Issue with 8100 - VSX won't come up, LACP does not sync

    Customer has a pair of 8100s and trying to build a VSX and it won't come up. The LAG neither, etc. 

    What we see on the console is this..

    CORE01(config)# vsx

    CORE01(config-vsx)# inter-switch-link 1/1/10

    CORE01(config-vsx)# exit

    CORE01(config)#

    Sep 25 14:24:44 systemd-coredump[24405]: switchd_agent0 has crashed, crash processing is in progress
    Sep 25 14:24:44 crash-handler[432]: switchd_agent0 crashed, crash processing in progress
    Sep 25 14:24:44 crash-handler[432]: RebootLibPh1: Reboot reason: switchd_agent0 crashed

     We have tried versions: 10.16.1006, 10.13.1140, 10.13.1006

    Same thing happens.... 

    Waiting for TAC at this point but anyone see anything like this ?

    Hi, expecting the VSX Best Practices (and configuration guide) was understood and followed (and connection to Aruba Central disabled), Switches are running the same AOS-CX build, are you able to post the sanitized outputs of:

    show running-config vsx
    show running-config vsx-peer
    show vsx status
    show vsx brief
    show vsx config-consistency

    and

    vsx-configmate

    CLI commands executed on the Aruba CX 8100 which is expected to have the VSX role of Primary?

    Also show events -r would be of help (eventually filtering what is not relevant).

    Hello, 

    I'm experiencing the same problem as you, the error messages are identical.

    When I connect my two 8100s with a basic VSX configuration, as soon as they detect each other, member 1 displays error messages and reboots.

    Were you able to find a solution that resolved your issue?

    I believe it was a hardware issue with the box and had to RMA it.
