  • 1.  JL083A Interface Cards

    I'm needing to install a couple JL083A interface cards in our Aruba switches.  Are these plug and play?  Do I need to power off the switch before installing them and is there any commands I need to run prior to installing them?  Thanks for the help.

    Hi! Flex Port Modules - and JL083A is one of them - aren't hot swappable (in other terms, you can't - better, you shouldn't - insert them while the switch is powered on: the switch needs to be rebooted to initialize the modules correctly and, if you're swapping than inserting, a preliminary procedure should be executed first).

    Yes you definitely need to power down the switch before installing the card.   But after that they are very plug and Play.   You will gain A1, A2, A3, A4 for example in your list of interfaces.
