    Hi,

Can anybody tell me what are the licensing requirements from the perspective of RAP's, in a scenario like:

Corporate Site: i have a controller which is being managed by MM and where we add all the licenses.

Branch site: we have a standalone controller and have deployed some campus access points.

In order to avail the remote access feature, the standalone controller will have a tunnel to the corporate controller.

    Now there are two questions:

    1. at the branch site, will it be a standalone controller or a controller that will be managed by a mobility master?

    2. if it is a standalone controller, what are the licensing requirements, will the access points fetch the license from the corporate office or do we need to buy additional licenses for the branch site?

    3. if it is a controller that is managed by the MM, will the access points get the license from the MM itself?

    Thanks & Regards

    Abdul Wadood

    1. In order to have the branch controller be managed by the MM , the corporate controller will need be setup as a VPNC and the branch controller will need to point to reach the MM via VPNC

    2. Assuming you do what I suggested in the previous question, you will need MM licenses to manage the controller and APs and AP, PEF , RFP licenses for the APs (PEF to enable the firewall capability and RFP is to enable the wireless intrusion detection capability)

    3. Yes

    Thank you
