Wireless Access

Hi Everyone. i am facing limited speed issue on wifi. we are using  following products.

Aruba controller 7240 (OS 8,5)
Aruba access Point 555 (tried 535 and 510)
Peplink load balancer (2 WAN)

Currently we have 2 WAN connections
WAN 1 : 370 Mbps link
WAN 2 : 250 Mbps link

We are combining both WANs and we are getting almost 600 Mbps on wired clients but on wireless clients we are not getting more than 340-350 Mbps.
We are using 5 GHZ and clients are connecting at 866Mbps and 1.2 Gbps

When checking WAN individually we are getting 330 mbps on WAN 1 and 220 on WAN 2 on wireless clients. It looks somehow Aruba wireless is not able to fully utilized the link.

Can anyone tell the solution please. Thanks.

What channel-width is used, how many spatial streams is support on client and ap, what signal-strength and SNR the client have, any interference sources.

Please note that the wireless-connection speed is shown in your network adapter is the 802.11 (Wi-Fi) modulation rate. When it says a connection speed at 866Mbps this is the modulation rate.

Due the large overhead of a Wi-Fi frame (802.11) your real speed at the ethernet (802.3) will be approx. 50% of the modulation ratie.

So if your network is about 866Mbps, your speedtest will about 400-500Mbps real download speed.

Also note thate Wi-Fi  is sensitive for air quality (airtime utilization) and some interference will give you an "x" percentage of acceptable re-transmissions.

You can check the MCS index for the right Wi-Fi modulation rates and keep in mind that approx. 50% will be your ethernetnet download speed. Link https://mcsindex.com/

@mkk put it well.  What you are seeing on WLAN is what I would expect given the WAN numbers.​
