    whenever I am using my internet connection on my laptop it eventually freezes regardless of what I do. The internet connection works, but when I open up a new program or when a new process occurs immediately it freezes. I have tried defragging the drive, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver etc. but it keeps on freezing, its very annoying, what can I do ?

    my laptop information : HP pavilion xf255 athlon 4 1.3 256 ram windows xp home

    Are you talking about:

    PCM200HA - HomeLink Phoneline 10M Integrated PC Card?

    There is a driver for download on their website. Driver Date : 12/26/2001

    Is yours the same date or newer? If not:

    http://www.linksys.com/download/driver.asp?dlid=55

    If your driver's OK then maybe it's an XP problem.

    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and let them scan your system for updates.

    Also run a virus scan to make sure you don't have any nasties. Get Ad Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and scan your system for spyware. Some of that will crash your system.
