Loop-protect packet type?

    Hi,

     

    We are looking in to enabling loop-protect on our 5406zl switches. They are are connected to other HP switches through L2 Wan links. The WAN provider tunnels BPDU's and other L2 protocols so the links appears "transparent". I'm now asking the wan-provider it they will "tunnel" the loop-protect packets, but depends really on what kind of packet it is.

     

    So what kind of packet is a loop-protect packet? Is it just a regular broadcast or anything "special" that will not travel through the wan-links?
