  • 1.  MACSec module JL083A

    Can the MACSec module be used for fibre connections to other Vendor switches via SFP+ modules. I want to install it into the JL324A switch to connect to Cisco or other HPE switches. I guess my questions is - do I need a MACSec capable port at the other end.

    If you don't need MACSec on the link to the other vendor switch, then the module would just work as SFP+ network ports.

    MACSec is something you would configure and enable, and without capable ports you cannot configure MACSec. If you have MACSec ports you can enable it or leave it disabled.
