  • 1.  Master Master HA - Is VRRP needed

    Posted Dec 13, 2018 11:00 AM

    Hi Experts,

I just need to confirm if i am configuring HA Fast Failover in master master setup, do i still need to configure VRRP? i dont think so because in HA profile we configure the IP of the active master anyway which also serves as the LMS-IP.

So if vrrp is not needed, i need to configure Backup LMS-IP with standby master IP right?

    Please advise

Please see your options here:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_6_5_4_X_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/VRRP/HighAvMigration.htm%3FTocPath%3DArubaOS%2520User%2520Guide%2520Topics%7CVirtual%2520Router%2520Redundancy%2520Protocol%2520(VRRP)%7C_____7

You will definitely need VRRP between a master and backup master for the configuration to be synchronized between controllers.  What is different for each scenario is where the VRRP is configured or NOT in the HA profiles or LMS backup LMS.
