  • 1.  Mobility controller virtual machine platform supported

    Hai

One of our client doesn't have the VMWARE ESXI platform and now want to install mobility master on Hyper-V, is it supported on this platform officially?

Also, they have an existing controller without redundancy and licences installed, will the new mobility master take the licence from the mobility controller for AP?

Yes, Hyper-V is supported for Mobility Conductor (current name for MM).

You would migrate your controller licenses to the Mobility Conductor so they can be used for all controllers under it. Note that Mobility Conductor itself needs to be licensed as well in addition to the controller licenses.

    Dear Herman

Thanks for the reply, I would like to clarify that the mobility controller was activated with the licence earlier, and AP was already provisioned, now new mobility master is in place, will the licence be automatically taken from the controller once it is added to MM or do we need to remove the licence from controller and activated on MM. How can we do it, TAC help is required. Also, we have a separate MM VA licence.

I need to get clarification regarding the AP licence on the controller, and the procedure of transfer to MM

The process of bringing the Mobility Controller (MC) under management of the Mobiliity Conductor (MCR) will require you to manually transfer the license through the license management server once you have the MCR operational. You will also have to default the MC (write erase all) as part of moving management of the MC over to the MCR which will remove any installed licenses on the MC.

Once complete, the MC will be managed and licensed through the MCR.
