Hi!
Setting up a backplane stack is a fairly simple process. You just need to power off all the switches in the stack, insert the stacking module and cables to the desired topology, and power on each switch, one at a time, in the order you want the stack members to come up in.
The first switch that you power on will become the commander of the stack. The second one will become the standby. After bringing up all the stack members, you can change which members you want to become commander and standby using the "stack priority" feature.
