    Aruba Network Analytics Engine

ArubaOS-CX includes Aruba's Network Analytics Engine (NAE) for advanced telemetry and automation. The NAE framework is an industry-first monitoring and troubleshooting system, providing greatly improved network operations. NAE uniquely provides the ability to monitor and easily troubleshoot network health and congestion issues. The Time Series Database (TSDB) may be used to store configuration and operational state.

Multiple scripts are available to download for free, and add as agents on your CX switches.

Aruba Solutions Exchange (ASE) - the repository for many solutions across the Aruba ecosystem: https://ase.arubanetworks.com/solutions

You can access the same ASE collection directly from the CX GUI:

Using NAE to pin down an undefined problem

We have all had these; a generalised, non-specific network issue characterised by things like:
    • Unpredictable ping response
    • Occasional slow response or dropouts when connected to a switch (ssh, GUI, NetEdit)
    • Inconsistent routing
    • Applications not always responding
    • Hyper-V cluster behaviour changed
    • No obvious issues showing in any of the logs
    • CLI trouble-shooting to check STP, COPP, routes, proving to be fruitless

The attached PDF "202102 NAE real world example - external device problem" takes you through the real-world situation I had to deal with. A new pair of storage switches had been successfully installed connecting back to my VSX core. However, at some point after that, one of the switches had been replaced and reconnected, but no config was applied - network problems ensued.

As i want to be prepared with some baseline data i wonder what would be an efficient way to rollout the two mentioned agents (NAE Agent - Interface Statistics/NAE Agent - System Resource Monitor) on around 100 switches (6200F/8320 with 10.06). Can this be done with CLI commands or a script using the REST API?

That would be a good question to pose in the Developer Community forum too. Certainly the REST API is the mechanism.

NetEdit will let you push out to 50(?) devices at once. I have used it to remove agents, but there may be more to initial download of the script and agent creation.
