nbx call reports issue

    Hello,

    My workstation and nbx are on different subnets. I can ping it and access nbx netset just fine, but when I run nbx call reports it times out with error 12002 The request has timed out.

    I connected the workstation to the same subnet and can ping and access nbx netset, but nbx call reports times out. I know the billing password is correct, cause when I put wrong password it complains about invalid billing password.

    Any ideas what could cause this?

    What protocols and ports are used by nbx call reports?

    Are you using NBX 6.0.x? In that release, CDR was changed to download the records using ftp. Make sure FTP is enabled on the NBX. (it is by default) but check http::/ip_address/sec_cont/system/systask.htm

    No, it is older version and it was working fine not long ago. I am able to download CDR in a TXT format using HTTP, but nbx call reports times out...

    What version of IE do you have....I believe it does not like anything over version 6.

    For Example, You cannot use a proxy connection for downloading record from CDR, and you control on IE connection.



    The same error show in another PC where installed a CDR application?

    Are you saying that NBX Call Reports utility uses IE proxy settings?

    I do not have proxy.

    I will try another PC and get back.

    The CDR from the first version do not work with proxy connection.



    Try to another PC and say wath appened.



    Version OF NBX? Version of CDR?

    I got the same results using another PC.

    nbx and call reports are version 4.

    You state error 12002



    Were you able to log in via the url and see all of the cdr data in the html format ?



    I use 8 zeros on both for testing . NBX CDR should have no trouble accessing the reports .



    What older version are you running and can you please be more descriptive in re to the error ?

    Does CDR run but times out ?

    What happens on the connection window ?

    On this window there should be a few steps whereby CDR contacts the NBX and attempts to download . when successful , it should tell you . Is this where you see the error ?

    I am able to login to NBX NetSet and I can download CDR using the URL below:

    http://<IPADDRESS>/htfs0/billing.txt?billingUsername,billingPassword,yyy,mm,dd



    But when I use NBX Call Reports application to retrieve call logs I get a pop-up window "Communications error" with OK button that says

    An error occurred while retrieving information from the NCP. There may be a problem with your network connection. Error info:

    When I click OK, the connection window has everything checked and in Import Results section it has 1 Errors, 0 Warnings.

    When I click View Log button in connection window, I get this:



    Communications Error at 5/26/2009 11:02:16 AM



    An error occurred while retrieving information from the NCP.

    There may be a problem with your network connection.



    Error :



    I believe it runs, authenticates and times out.



    When I put wrong billing password it gives an error message instantly "File not retrieved. Invalid billing password?"



    It is NBX Call Reports version R4.0.0.

    4.0 code ?

    That is over 4 years old now !



    So the NBX must be running an older version as well . It seems that the NBX will not respond to your request . I would open a ticket up with support .

    I would not like to purge CDR on the NBX at this point.



    I can see HTTP traffic between NBX and computer that runs NBX Call Reports, and it seems like if the call report is too big and NBX Call Reports utility has a time-out limit. Is there a way to modify the time-out setting in NBX Call Reports utility?

    Hello,



    Just found out that there are documented cases in 3Com's knowledgebase that the Call Reports does not work with IE7.



    Uninstalled IE7 and it works again. How come you did not mention this to me guys? :)



    Actually I take this back, because someone here said that Call Reports does not like anything over IE6.

    Unfortunately the NBX is using older apps . We do not support EI 7 or 8  . Maybe things will work , but they are very funky , especially on older versions like 4.0 and newer browsers .



    lately on 6.0 and 6.5 you can see a large difference if you use say 7.0 but you can try compatability mode and see if that works as well  on 7.0 . we all use 6.0 back here .



    Like a 1940 Ford and a 2000 Ford  .
