Just tried, for the first time, to acess a Wireless Network and received the message "Network Cable Unplugged". In addition, there seems to be no Wireless Networks tab in Network Connections Properties. Does this mean that I am missing something? I distinctly paid for WiFi 802.11b Thanks.

Need more information are you using a
wireless pic card or a pcmica card. Pc and laptops come with built in nic connection
which sounds like the one gaving the error message. Also the wirless communication
card is missing drivers also who is the manufactor. This information is needed to guide you on what to do.

it sounds like your running windows, and windows treats every network as wired. "network cable unpluged" for a WiFi network means that the network cannot associate with the base station.

are you using XP or 2k? is this a wireless card/chip that came with the laptop or a PCMCIA or miniPCI card you bought and added in? have you loaded all vendor software?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm running XP Pro and have not added anything to the computer since I bought it.

if you dont got any wireless network tabs or any entry of wireless nic in networkneighbourhood/my network places, then it looks like you dont got any wifi card installed.
    Could mean two things
    1. you just dont got any wifi hardware in youre pc
    2. the wifi hardware isnt installed, best wat to check is to goto device manager in control panel and check if there any unkown devices listed there, if so, these might be youre wireless hardware.
